
This is a view of the main shopping area of the city of Chester. It dates from Roman times and was originally a walled Roman camp. Some of the walls still remain. It is noted for its timber-framed buildings. The shopping area is "arcaded", meaning the second story shops have their own covered balcony walkway. |
