
The Tower of London was built by William the Conqueror. Pictured here is the White Tower (above). It is only a part of the entire fortress. The tower and its surrounding buildings are still in use, today, as a military fort.

In the time of William the Conqueror,Yeoman Warders (above), sometimes called Beefeaters, were Tower guards. They now act as tour guides.

The Crown Jewels (above) are also housed on the Tower grounds.
